SIGNING IN BRISTOL 2007

REM meets SF legend Ian Watson and is regaled by tales of working with Kubrick. Shortly afterwards, Watson reads REM's QUAKE and leaves the building at a dead run, having had his eccentricity and sanity tested. And that's saying something! www.ianwatson.info

The morning after the night before. Most science fiction conventions look like this. Note distinct absence of people dressed as Klingons. Ha! America, this ain't.

REM on a panel with Eric Brown, Ian Watson and Charlie Stross. The topic was Optimism in British SF. Well, that's me fucked then. Ian and Charlie were particularly eloquent. I, however, was simply hung-over. Who thinks up these damn panel topics anyway? Why couldn't we discuss guns in SF? Android sex? AI? Or hypocritics?
